Canadians are buying less alcohol

Sales of alcohol, on a volume basis, fell in Canada for the fourth consecutive year, according to the latest data from Statistics Canada. From April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, the volume of alcohol sold in Canada reached 2.8 billion litres, down three percent from the same period the previous year.
Data for this week’s chart comes from Statistics Canada Table 10-10-0010-01 Sales of alcoholic beverages types by liquor authorities and other retail outlets, by value, volume, and absolute volume.
