Canadian wheat production hits record high in 2025

It was a good year for Canadian farmers. Data from the November 2025 Field Crop survey shows production of most crops was higher in 2025 than the year before, with wheat production reaching record highs. Wheat output rose 11.2% year‑on‑year to a record 40.0 million tonnes, beating the record set in 2013. Canada is a global leader in wheat production, trailing behind only Russia and the European Union, and exports the crop to 65 countries.
Data for this week’s chart come from Statistics Canada's Table 32-10-0359-01, "Estimated areas, yield, production, average farm price and total farm value of principal field crops, in metric and imperial units."
